The two victims from Sunday's shooting on the 400 block of Stuyvesant Avenue don't appear to be the intended targets of the suspects, according to police.
"They were shooting in their direction, but there were others nearby," Lt. Mark Kieffer said.
Police responded to the shots fired call at 8:45 p.m. and found 61-year-old Berkley McDaniel dead from a gunshot wound to the head and 51-year-old man wounded in the shoulder. A New Jersey Transit bus was also struck by gunfire during the shooting.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and police are looking for two suspects, one of whom is a black male with dreadlocks wearing a green shirt. The TPD's Det. Brian Jones and Det. Bryan Cottrell from the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office are on the case.
On Saturday, another man was wounded in what appears to be a robbery gone bad in Chambersburg. The 44-year-old victim was in the area of the 100 block of Ashmore Avenue when two men in black clothing approached him from behind. One of the suspects pulled out a silver handgun and told the victim not to move.
When the victim turned around to tell the suspects he did not have any money, they began shooting at him, wounding him in his left leg. The victim is currently in stable condition, Kieffer said.
