A pair on twins now stand accused of murder, with each twin being charged in separate homicides.
On Monday, the U.S. Marshals New York New Jersey Regional Task Force arrest Marquis Skillman, 27, in Trenton. He is charged with murder and weapons offenses related to the death of 19-year-old Rayshawn Ransom last week, Sgt. Tim Thomas said.
Ransom riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle on the 100 block of Passiac Street when Skillman allegedly fired numerous shots at the vehicle, striking Ransom in the head and chest. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, drove Ransom to an apartment complex on the 600 block of West State Street. Off-duty Trenton Police Officer James Mack then called for help. Ransom remained on life support until he was taken off of it.
Marquis Skillman is the twin brother of Maurice Skillman, who is currently accused of killing a Mercer County Corrections Officer last year.
On Nov. 11, 2012, Maurice Skillman, 27, allegedly fired 20 shots at the second floor balcony of the Baldassari Regency on the 100 block of Morris Avenue, with one of the bullets striking the five-year veteran corrections officer in the head. He was arrested on Dec. 21, 2012 and at the time, authorities said that while the shooting was gang-related, Batie was not the intended target. In January of this year, Hykeem Tucker, 26 was also arrested and charged with murder as part of the Batie case.
Maurice Skillman is currently incarcerated on $1 million bail.
